Mercury expanded its MCP from read-only account access to financial actions, allowing users to ask ChatGPT, Claude, and other agents to move money, pay vendors, and categorize transactions directly from chat. Agents can prepare actions, but Mercury keeps a human approval step before transfers are completed, combining agentic workflows with account-level controls and revocable access.

Visa is moving stablecoin capabilities in Visa Direct into commercial production, with Inyo Global becoming the first partner to enable businesses to prefund cross-border payouts using USDC in near real time. The launch lets fintechs, money transmitters, and payment companies use stablecoins for 24/7 liquidity and funding while still relying on Visa Direct's existing global payout network, marking a shift from stablecoin experimentation toward day-to-day payments infrastructure.

Patrick Collison says Privy has grown sharply since Stripe acquired it, with assets in wallets up about 25x, monthly active developers up 3x, revenue up 9x, and transaction volume approaching $25 billion per month. GI Partners CEO and head of private equity Travis Pearson left the $49 billion firm after just over a year in the role, prompting GI to reconsider the timing of its seventh private equity fund and push the launch into 2027.
