Open infrastructure for autonomous agents comes to CNCF
Google has donated three open-source projects—Agent Substrate, gVisor, and OpenRL—to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) to establish an open infrastructure stack for autonomous AI agents. Agent Substrate has simultaneously reached version 1.0 and general availability on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), separating stateful agent sessions from active compute to achieve high sandbox density and fast restoration times. Meanwhile, gVisor provides secure container isolation, and OpenRL coordinates self-hosted reinforcement learning post-training loops on Kubernetes. Open article →
