Stringman open-source room-scale gripper released
Stringman is an open-source, cable-driven room-scale gripper robot designed to reach an entire room from above using four motors anchored in ceiling corners. The system features a cable-driven architecture that shares lifting force, scaling payload capacity and offering a work area volume per dollar unmatched by traditional mobile or desktop robotic arms. It runs locally on user hardware with a Python API and MCP server, and supports automatic grasping and imitation learning models like LeRobot. Open article →
